A Palmes Guide to Copenhagen Tennis Life & Menswear Shopping

Though Denmark is a big football country, the love for tennis runs deep in our culture. Palmes was founded in Copenhagen in the summer of 2021, dreaming up our idea of a modern-day menswear brand with roots in tennis while playing on the clay courts of the Danish capital.

So, where do we go for feelings of all things tennis in our own hometown?

For Playing

Bad news first: All clubs in Copenhagen are private and most have waitlists, so we recommend that you sign up sooner rather than later. However, through Wannasport online, you can book courts in and around the city. On summer days, go to Bane1 on Refshaleøen and jump in the water for a dip after. Hit the green turf court on the roof of iconic Mercurhotel, designed by Danish architect Otto Frankild in 1956. Or, go by car to Homegrounds in Kastrup where there’s beautiful grass and clay courts next to one another. It’s also a wellness retreat so call ahead and have them get the sauna and cold plunge ready for full grand slam-level recovery!

For indoor courts in the wintertime, head to the indoor hardcourts of Farum, Hillerød, Amager or Taastrup!

For Watching

We love the guys at Bar Sportif so much that we recently did a line of merch items for them and that is not without reason.
