A thing that’s always annoyed us at Palmes with tennis is that you can’t always be playing tennis, however much we feel like doing so. The next best thing? Watching the game unfold in front of our eyes and the whole spectacle that takes place around tennis matches on a professional level. Though there’s only two, or four, players on court at a time, the surrounding ecosystem is made up of an abundance of layers and individuals who shape the entire experience of a tennis match.
For this year’s final of the Roland Garros tournament in Paris, London-based photographer Mikey Massey ventured to the French capital to document the atmosphere of attending one such event, depicting the humanly emotional moments that unfold on their own initiative as a result of their presence within the ecosystem that is a Grand Slam final.
