Dreamed up as an escape from the rigid, colorless and closeminded structure that Rovsing found Denmark to be, and created with inspirations from his many travels, Dansk Tennis Club constitutes the very juxtapositions that symbolizes the life and story of Rovsing. When you walk by Dansk Tennis Club a few kilometres north of Copenhagen, the space looks unique albeit unassuming from the outside. There, Rovsing built what would be known as the Bali village, a small cluster of houses and wooden structures, mimicking those that Rovsing had lived in on his travels. Rovsing also published numerous books and pamphlets, advocating for the acceptance of homosexuality in the world of sports.
